What ADGM requires
Annual accounts must be audited unless the company qualifies for an exemption. The guidance names three: a small company, a subsidiary of an ADGM parent, or a dormant company. The guidance is dated 25 August in its file name.
Exempt does not mean free of the rule everywhere. A Qualifying Free Zone Person (QFZP) that wants the 0% corporate tax rate must keep audited accounts regardless of size. So a small ADGM company that is a QFZP still needs an audit. Our page on the qualifying free zone person covers that rate.
Who can sign
An ADGM Registered Auditor. ADGM does not use the word approved. It uses registered, and it keeps two categories: Registered Auditors, which are firms, and Registered Audit Principals, which are individuals. Ask your firm which one will sign and confirm both on the register.
When it is due
The guidance we read does not give a day count after year end in the part we could use. We cannot state a deadline. Ask ADGM and your auditor.
Where the official list is
ADGM keeps a public register of auditors. It is on the ADGM site under operating in ADGM, auditors, find an auditor, in words: adgm.com find an auditor. The page blocked automated access on , so we read no names and state none. Search the register in your browser.
On size, a search snippet of the ADGM Registration Authority audit monitoring report gave 37 Registered Auditors and 132 Registered Audit Principals as of . We did not open the report, so treat the numbers as not verified.
How to use this page
- Check whether your company qualifies for an exemption.
- If it is a QFZP, assume you need audited accounts.
- Search the register for firms and the named principal.
- Use the quote form on this page to ask listed firms for an audit quote.
DIFC works differently, with a DFSA register. See free zone audit requirements or the full table at free zone approved auditors.
Firms in our directory that mention ADGM
The table under this section comes from our own data. Each firm appears because ADGM is named on its own homepage. We did not check licences or approvals. An audit under the ADGM Companies Regulations needs an ADGM Registered Auditor. The firms below say on their own site that they serve ADGM clients. That does not mean they are on the register, so search it before you engage anyone.
